The beauty in having resolution for a new year

So, witnessing a new year is a gift - gift considered so great and special. And at times, when we reflect on the past years or sit to scribble down the achievements of the year before, one could get dissapointed or a bubbling spirit is ignited in the individual and the energy to dream and achieve more is renewed.  There's the vitality to overcome every stepbacks on the way to one's success or barrier to one's goals. Hearing the songs of victory and thanksgiving that suceeeds the new year, one gets to ponder and remember plans that were nipped - even the plans considered "not big enough. "

Many people will state "there's nothing new about the year,  Janaury 1st is not different like the past days. Nothing changes. " yet this statement is argued with being contradictory to the thoughts and opinions of 90% humans for a new year is perceived as a new dawn - a time to trample on laziness, stagnation and failure so as to come out great. What then is resolution? Ever heard of people being resolute at the beginning of the year and how "Change" is being sang? Resolution means having strong will / determination over a cause i.e being resolute, dauntless in achieving a cause. Resolution becomes a major word on everyone's lips in a new year and it is likened to making plans and being focused in a new year.

That you were spared to witness a new year means God is expecting you to make some things right this season. If we sit to recline awhile, things will go awry and hopes will be cut short.

So is there beauty in having resolution in a new year? Do we remain relaxed,  fold arms and expect things to happen itself?

Whether last year was gruesome, saddening and goals were unachieved; it's time to rise, focus on the present, learn from past mistakes, pick one or two lessons and endeavor to make sure failure never subdue you.
