ways that helps in boosting relationships and communications
The foundation of some relationships that was worked on toilsomely before being built has crumbled so far due to negligence and ignorance of some certain things that are as important just as toppings on pizza and salt in meals.
One of the best sentences I ever heard from people close to me is when I hear someone say " Wow! Ope, I'm glad I know you". Well, if they do mean this words or not, I know not but how pleasant such is to me! Imagine how surprised and enraged you will be when someone drops a "what the heck! I regret meeting you" message. Drop that face! It's possible you know? Peeps don't bother holding back words anymore, especially if it depict their feelings. We could say we don't care about what people say or do but our heart don't reckon with us in this. I need you, you need me, we all need one another . The role of Ubuntu, an African philosophy that is reflected in the phrase "I am because you are" which depicts being human through others, defining the importance of relationships, harmony and unity which in so many ways have helped in achievement of some goals. Definitely, our relationships with others determine the level of peace we own and how far we can go in life.
So, sit back and stay focused for here are some ways that can be of assistance in boosting relationships and communications
- Be observant - So many people have become detached to the facial expressions worn by their beloved, the lack of bubbling excitement in the voices of their closed ones or friends. It's awful when you look past the words and actions of those around you and focus on yours alone. Humans are not so secretive, even when they make efforts in holding back tears or seeking advice, watch out for the tone in their voice and their actions. By taking time to reply due to being lost in thoughts, decreased humor and smile or sluggishness, you can get to know what could be wrong if you bare your heart, eyes and ears to their words and actione.
- Support - People will only support those who support them too. I was shocked and deeply hurt when a friend (I sent a link to in a bid to help vote and share related to the contest I was participating in) yelped out in rage because I ignored a message in which he had needed my support and reply. Imagine that? Sometimes we hurt people without we, knowing. I felt hurt and depressed even though I had as much votes I needed. I might not have won the contest but I learnt a great lesson - supporting others make then support you too. It goes a long way but you should know now that some people cut you off cause you would always seek their support without asking how you can help or giving them a hand. Well, if you can't do it; don't promise but let them know. If it will skip your mind ,set a reminder or write it down in a notepad.
- A message - A "Hi, how's everything " message could be what someone needs at that moment. Ever felt like you don't exist? Imagine how your face will gleam when such message get to you. Who knows if such message is the motivation someone needs at that moment, if a suicidal attempt will be nipped or if self - hate will be crashed just at the glimpse of that short sentence!
- Say sorry first - You don't have to be right all the time. Pride has been a major setback in relationships, saying sorry first doesn't hurt. You could be wrong too, our opinions could be diverse or controversial leading to conflict or unhealthy rivalry yet being the one to say sorry first sometimes shows your maturity and effort in keeping relationships stable.
There are tons of ways to boost relationships and communications but we could stop here for now. How pleasant will it be if the aforementioned ways are practiced, a crumbled relationship could be rebuilt you know?
Remember, I need you, you need me, we all need one another!
